Lampa podłogowa Bestlite BL4 istnieje w stałej produkcji od 1930 roku. W tym czasie stała na biurkach wielu znanych ludzi, w tym Winstona Churchilla. Lampa została zaprojektowana przez Roberta Dudleya Besta, który tworzył pod wyraźnym wpływem nurtu Bauhaus. Była to szkoła w Niemczech, która łączyła naukę praktycznego rzemiosła ze sztuką. Styl wypracowany przez szkołę Bauhaus miał ogromny wpływ na późniejszy rozwój designu, architektury, projektowania graficznego oraz wzornictwa przemysłowego. Po osiemdziesięciu latach lampa Bestlite pozostaje bliska swoim industrialnym korzeniom, na które wskazuje wykonanie z proszkowanego metalu. Lampa znajduje się w stałych zbiorach zarówno Victoria & Albert Museum, jak i Muzeum Designu w Londynie. Uwielbiana przez architektów wnętrz i miłośników designu stanowi jedną z ikon współczesnego wzornictwa.
Wysokość lampy jest regulowana, a lampa może być nachylona pod kątem 90 stopni od pozycji poziomej do pionowej. Natomiast klosz lampy można obrócić o 360 stopni.
